Last week I took part in the Creative Futures event, organised by Creative Front and held at the Junction in Cambridge. I was there to give a masterclass on “Research: what it is, who it’s for, and what’s in it for you.” The day consisted of short talks from a variety of designers, a series of materclasses, and a keynote speech from Wayne Hemingway.
I managed to catch a couple of talks. One from Wethreeclub who have set up a music poster design and screen printing business – creating psychedelic style posters for bands including the Rolling Stones, Queens of the Stone Age and Graham Coxon. Another by a husband and wife games developer team The Utopian World of Sandwiches giving very honest insight into the reality of running a small studio. Also Amy Christian on what she looks for when commissioning photographers for Oxfam.
