Day of the Disappeared 02.09.09

Miyo Yoshida sent these photos of her work for last weekend’s Amnesty International Day of the Disappeared. A series of figures made from resin coated clothes prominently placed around London.

Miyo graduated from the Royal College of Art this summer. She now combines the materials and processes learned on the jewellery and silversmithing MA with those gained during her previous career as a TV production designer (BBC, MTV, Big Brother, Hell’s Kitchen). The results are challenging and innovative – unusually, as much about concepts and ideas as craft and skill.
