A day in town catching up with friends and exhibition visiting. Called in at Research Studios and said hello to Neville before a quick beer at The Elk In The Woods in Camden Passage with Jeff and Shoreditch for lunch with Marco at The Albion on Boundary Street. Then Tate Britain for Chris Ofili and Henry Moore. Interesting to see Moore’s sheets of figure sketches first hand – and his drawings of coal miners and Londoners sheltering during the blitz. Took a quick look at the V&A but missed last entry to Horace Walpole & Strawberry Hill.
Then Oberon Book Awards and “DRAW: Turning Thoughts Into Lines” private views at the Royal College of Art. Quentin Blake giving the prizes. Caught up with a few old tutors.
